Casablanca – The 19th edition of the International Building Exhibition (SIB) is preparing to open its doors, marking nearly four decades of contribution to the building and construction sector.
According to a press release from the organizers, this flagship event which will be held from November 20 to 24, 2024 at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Center in El Jadida, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, will bring together the biggest players in the industry around a unique platform for dialogue, exchange of technological innovations and discoveries of the latest market trends.
Organized by the Ministry of National Territorial Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and City Policy and the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE), and co-organized by the Federation of Construction Materials Industries (FMC) and the National Federation of Building and Public Works (FNBTP), this show benefits from the delegated management of the URBACOM agency, specializing in communication and events related to building since 2006 .
Under the theme “Controlled implementation, Valuable Materials and Buildings”, the show will explore optimized construction techniques, the valorization of materials and the sustainability of buildings, supported by a dense scientific program, indicates the press release, letting it be known that conferences led by renowned experts, such as the French architect Corinne Vezzoni, will offer concrete and innovative perspectives to respond to the contemporary challenges of the sector.
This year, the event will honor the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, special guest of this edition, through a series of activities and presentations that will highlight the strong ties and dynamic collaborations between Morocco and Mauritania in the construction sector.
“The SIB is the unmissable event for the construction industry in Morocco. This year, we are bringing together 50 countries, more than 1,500 brands, in an exhibition space of 30,000 m². This edition places emphasis on sustainability and mastery of industry techniques, thus positioning itself as a unique platform for discovering the latest trends, strengthening partnerships and promoting sustainable and responsible development of the construction sector. It is useful to remember that more than 80% of exhibitors renew their participation edition after edition,” explains Reda El Haddaj, General Commissioner of the SIB and General Director of Urba Com.
During this edition, the SIB will highlight a wide range of sectors of activity, including construction, architecture, carpentry, building materials and ecological solutions. Players specializing in security, industrial equipment and intelligent technologies applied to buildings will also be present. This diversity demonstrates the continued evolution of the sector and the SIB’s commitment to promoting solutions adapted to current challenges, particularly in terms of sustainable construction, energy management and respect for the environment.
SIB 2024 will offer several dedicated spaces to meet the expectations of participants, including a Demonstration Space with live presentations, a SIB Academy for training with programs on construction professions, a SIB TV for continuous media coverage, as well as a B2B Space managed by the FMC to encourage professional collaborations.
Created in 1986, the SIB has become an essential biennial event for construction professionals in Morocco and internationally. Representatives of private companies, public organizations, materials suppliers, equipment importers, as well as architects and engineers converge there, all eager to share their expertise, present the most recent advances and strengthen collaborations. within the sector.
The 2022 edition had already demonstrated the international reach of the event, attracting more than 500 exhibitors and 160,000 visitors from 42 countries. In 2024, organizers aim to surpass these results, bringing together an even wider range of participants and intensifying exchanges between professionals.
During its 19th edition, the SIB offers several new features to enrich the experience of participants. The URBA EVENT mobile application will offer real-time information, personalized itineraries and the ability to make appointments with exhibitors. Immersive virtual tours will allow you to explore the stands in 3D. Charging stations for electric vehicles will be installed to promote sustainable mobility, and a Start-up Space will highlight projects from innovative Moroccan companies.
To facilitate access to the show, free shuttles will be set up, linking Casablanca to the Mohammed VI Exhibition Center in El Jadida with two daily trips, departures at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., and returns at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. In addition, visitors will benefit from a 30% reduction on train tickets to the Mohammed VI Exhibition Park stop station upon presentation of their badge or invitation.
