Red fruit professionals will discuss best practices, technological innovations and commercial strategies adapted to the realities of each market, during the 5th edition of the “Morocco Berry Conference” which will be held on November 14 in Agadir.
This event, initiated by the Moroccan Interprofessional Federation of Red Fruits, will bring together leaders of the red fruit industry from Morocco and more than 30 countries for a day rich in know-how, innovations and strategic collaborations, indicates a press release from the organizers . It will bring together more than 500 participants, including 200 international, and aims to propel Morocco as a world leader in red fruits, while providing opportunities to local agricultural communities and promoting sustainable agricultural practices, underlines the Interprofessional.
Speakers will participate in sessions on market trends, advances in sustainability, varietal selection, technology and operations management. More than 50 companies will exhibit their latest technological innovations in a space allowing visitors to discover cutting-edge solutions to optimize their production and guarantee environmentally friendly agriculture. Several topics will be discussed such as reducing water consumption and optimizing supply chains, two major challenges for the sector.
Morocco, a major player in the global red fruit market, is one of the world’s largest exporters (5th place in the world for blueberry exports). The Kingdom currently accounts for around 10% of global red fruit exports, a share that is constantly increasing thanks to innovation efforts and environmentally friendly production. In 2023, it exported more than 200,000 tonnes of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries, generating more than $600 million in revenue.
