The death of Mamadou Moustapha Ba, former Senegalese Minister of Finance and Budget, sparks a wave of reactions and questions. Following the arrival of his remains in Senegal, the Public Prosecutor ordered an autopsy to “determine the causes of death”, citing “information received on the circumstances of the death” which requires investigations, in accordance with the article 66 of the code of criminal procedure.
This decision was strongly commented on the social network X (formerly Twitter) by Madiambal Diagne. He questioned the necessity of this investigation, stressing that, according to him, “French justice would have taken charge” of a possible investigation if the death of the former minister had presented suspicious elements. “How can we imagine that the French authorities would not investigate a suspicious death? », he added, expressing his doubts as to the relevance of the initiative of the Senegalese authorities.
