“The coalition formed by the Mayor’s List, the PTB and Ecolo is committed to a serious and ambitious project to make Mons a dynamic city on the economic level, united on the social level, progressive and environmental,” indicated the partners of the new majority in a press release. “The majority pact proposed by Liste du Bourgmestre, the PTB and Ecolo reflects a resolute commitment to a harmonious balance between economic development, social well-being and environmental protection.”

The three parties are uniting “to offer the people of Montoise a unifying project, which aims to be inclusive and bring progress. More than a political alliance with different sensitivities, this pact is the culmination of a balanced and common vision : that of a Mons where everyone finds their place and where today’s challenges are met collectively.”
The partners further underlined that the “new tripartite majority is part of a process of bringing together which advocates reinforced citizen participation”.
The majority pact composed of elected officials from the Mayor’s List, the PTB and Ecolo will be deposited on Friday in the hands of the General Management of the City of Mons and will have 28 seats out of 45 on the municipal council, compared to the 17 seats of the opposition tandem composed of Mons en Mieux (MR) and Les Engagés.
