Quebec: two other pedestrians hit by vehicles

Two people were injured after being hit by vehicles in Quebec in less than 24 hours.

A first collision occurred at a pedestrian crossing located at the corner of Maricourt Avenue and Montpetit Avenue shortly before 6 p.m., Wednesday evening.

The circumstances leading to the impact are not clear at the moment, indicates Pierre-Olivier Lévesque, spokesperson for the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ).

Fortunately, there is no fear for the victim’s life. She only suffered lower back pain and a few scratches.

A bus involved

Less than 24 hours later, Thursday morning, a woman in her fifties was, this time, injured near the intersection of rue Saint-Paul and boulevard Jean-Lesage. She was hit by the rearview mirror of an RTC bus.

The victim was transported to hospital to treat injuries that are not life-threatening, confirms the SPVQ.

These are the fifth and sixth incidents of this kind to occur in the Quebec region in just under three weeks. Three people died.
