Tinghir – A new cultural center was inaugurated on Wednesday in Tinghir, as part of the celebrations marking the 49th anniversary of the glorious Green March.

Made for an investment of 33 million dirhams, this cultural building was inaugurated by the secretary general of the Department of Culture, Samira Lemlizi, and the governor of the province of Tinghir, Ismail Haikal, during a ceremony attended by from elected officials, heads of external services, civil society actors and other personalities.

Spread over an area of ​​2,400 m2, this cultural infrastructure, co-financed by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, and the Tinghir Municipal Council, should support cultural and artistic activities in the city and support cultural creation and artistic.

The Center would enable the capacity building of young people in various cultural activities, indicated on this occasion, Ms. Lemlizi, adding in a statement to MAP that the Center includes a media library, reading spaces and cultural activities, in addition to a large room for theatrical and cinematographic performances, and rooms dedicated to the practice of dramatic arts, drawing and music.

This cultural infrastructure, she added, also makes it possible to host other activities such as craft workshops, audiovisual shows, seminars, cultural days and various cultural events organized by cultural actors and civil society associations.
