It is an extraordinary trial which resumed this Monday, November 4 at the criminal court. The Mazan rape trial began last September and will continue until next December. Four months to examine the case of 51 men, accused of having raped Gisèle Pelicot while she was drugged, chemically subjected by her husband, Dominique Pelicot. Since the beginning of the week, the cases of eight new men have been examined by the court and at the end of the hearing, this Monday, November 4, our colleagues from South-West went to collect the reactions of the spouses or ex-spouses of these men. And their reactions are not necessarily those we expected.

If some are angry, dismayed, even destroyed, others, on the contrary, show compassion towards their partner, explaining their actions and sometimes going so far as to “take responsibility”, reports Sud-Ouest. Samira T. seeks for example “answers to [ses] questions for three and a half years”. Her companion, Jérôme V., is accused of having raped Gisèle Pelicot six times in 2020.

However, she decided to stay by his side and “support” him: “If we met, it’s not by chance, I had this mission […]. He had no reason to look elsewhere,” she confided to our colleagues, in tears. She, who for years accepted her partner's daily requests for sexual relations, every day “at 10 p.m.”, also agreed to be photographed (…)
