Dakar, Nov 4 (APS) – The coach of the Senegal men’s national basketball team, Ngagne DeSagana Diop, published Monday a list of twelve players selected for the Afrobasket 2025 qualifiers scheduled for November 22 to 24 in Dakar .

The list published by the technician is marked by the returns of Jean-Jacques Boissy, El Hadji Branco Badio, Youssou Ndoye and Pape Moustapha Diop, all absent during the last Lions basketball regrouping, last August.

On this occasion, Senegal played two friendly matches against Tunisia, the reigning champion.

The Lions of Senegal barely dominated Tunisia (66-64) at the end of their first friendly meeting, before losing in the second round of their confrontation (60-65).

The first window of the 2025 men’s Afrobasket qualifiers was held last February in Egypt and Tunisia. The teams that participated in this first window were placed in groups B, C and D.

This second Dakar window concerns groups A and B.

Senegal is housed in group B, along with Cameroon, Gabon and Rwanda. Group A brings together South Sudan, DR Congo, Mali and Libya.

A third window is planned for February 2025 for the five groups.

Angola has been designated to host the 2025 edition of the men’s Afrobasket.

The players summoned by Ngagne Desagana Diop will begin a regrouping from November 18.
