The Moroccan automobile market recorded notable growth in October 2024, marking a sustained recovery in new vehicle sales, according to the latest data from the Association of Vehicle Importers in Morocco (AIVAM).

The Association’s figures reveal a 17.17% increase in overall sales, reaching 15,003 units in October 2024, compared to 12,805 units over the same period in 2023.

Sales of passenger vehicles (PV) increased by 14.94%, with 12,972 units sold, compared to 11,286 units in October of the previous year. This segment, still a driving force in the market, reflects growing demand from Moroccan consumers for new vehicles, despite an uncertain global economic context.

As for light utility vehicles (LCV), the increase is even more marked. Sales jumped 33.71%, reaching 2,031 units, compared to 1,519 in October 2023. This segment is driven by increased demand from businesses and professionals, driven by sectors like logistics and commerce.

Over the whole year, cumulative sales at the end of October 2024 amounted to 137,953 units, up 5.94% compared to the 130,214 units sold at the same period in 2023. This positive dynamic supports the recovery of the Moroccan automobile market, supported by a renewed consumer interest in new vehicles and companies’ investments in renewing their fleets.

In the passenger car segment, Dacia continues to position itself at the head of the Moroccan market, with 2,846 new registrations. The brand is followed by Renault (1,633), Hyundai (1,243), Peugeot (1,067), Citroën (709), Opel (615), Kia (514), Skoda (328). Seat and Toyota share 9e position with 326 sales, while Fiat comes to 10e position with 227 units.

On the brand side, we once again find MG at the head of the national top 5 with 105 sales, followed by BYD (89), DFSK (79), Changan (71) and Geely (34).

In terms of premium, BMW comes first with 401 registrations, followed by Audi (388) and Mercedes-Benz (246).
