This Sunday, November 3, around 4 a.m., a tragic incident occurred near the Auchan store in Mbacké. A 27-year-old man, identified as Mr. Lô, was found dead in a burning car. This tragedy caused shock in the community, sparking strong reactions among residents.
The police from the Mbacké urban police station, alerted at dawn, quickly went to the scene, under the direction of Commissioner Alioune Fall. When they arrived, they discovered a Mercedes 190 vehicle completely engulfed in flames. With the support of the Touba firefighters, the fire was brought under control after an intervention lasting almost thirty minutes. Unfortunately, the fire had already completely consumed the vehicle, making initial identification of the victim difficult.

A neighborhood investigation made it possible to identify the charred body as that of Mr. Lô, a well-known mason in the neighborhood. The authorities also revealed that the young man appeared in the police file, having recently been arrested for identity verification as part of a security operation. The first elements of the investigation suggest a tragic hypothesis: Mr. Lô had the habit of spending the night in parked vehicles and lighting mosquito repellent products to protect himself from insects. According to witnesses, this practice was the cause of the fire, potentially triggered by the inappropriate use of these products in a confined space.
