DOMINIQUE SARTINI PRIZE (L). Quinté winner and double Listed placed over the Auteuil hurdles, Alain Couétil’s protégé Zéphyr de Beaumont (Masked Marvel), who remained on an excellent comeback on this track, won the first Listed of his career in the Prix Dominique Sartini (L). Mounted in a waiting position by Thomas Beaurain, Zéphyr de Beaumont progresses with obvious resources in the final turn, and sets off in pursuit of the fugitive Square St Roch (Polarix). Depositing the latter at the start of the straight, he headed towards an easy success. Finishing pleasantly, but less well than the winner, Zarflight (Zarak) takes a clear second place ahead of the courageous Earl of Shannon (Doctor Dino), who narrowly preserves his third place.

Bred by his owner Jöel-Jean Hamon, Zéphyr de Beaumont is a son of Masked Marvel (Montjeu), who breeds at Haras de la Tuilerie. He is a nephew of Ange de Beaumont (Assessor), winner of Gr.1 over Italian hurdles, and of Chris de Beaumont (Khalkevi), winner of the Prix Jean Bart (L.) at Auteuil. Photo APRH.
