Playing in his hometown, Aleksander Barkov had a goal and three assists to help the Florida Panthers win 6-4 over the Dallas Stars in Tampere, Finland, on Saturday.
Sam Reinhart scored twice for the Panthers, who deserved a fourth straight victory.
Reinhart scored one of his goals a man short. He already has three such goals this season; before Friday’s matches, 11 clubs had yet to score a shorthanded goal.
Anton Lundell, Evan Rodrigues and Mackie Samoskevich rounded out for Florida.
Aaron Ekblad provided three assists and Sergei Bobrovsky made 32 saves.
Rodrigues scored 28 seconds into the game, then the Panthers raced to a 3-1 cushion at the first intermission.
Among the Stars, former Cataractes Mavrik Bourque got his first goal in the National League. He was credited with the goal after a scrum in the net in the third period.
Esa Lindell, Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn were the other scorers.
Jake Oettinger blocked 22 shots for the Stars, who were looking for their third straight win.
