Ablaye Cissoko, the kora virtuoso, raised as a knight of arts and letters of France

The master of the Kora, whose music transports and creates bridges between people and cultures, inhabits an imagination of gentleness and tenderness. From his city of Saint-Louis, where he has lived for 30 years, he floods Senegal and Africa with melodies whose roots spring from a long tradition of masters of the kora and traditional sounds.

Currently, the 4th edition of the “Au tour des cordons” Festival is taking place. Artists come from all parts of the world to build relationships and inhabit the 300-year-old city in a different way.

The kora virtuoso, in this festival, puts the spotlight on stringed instruments, these instruments that carry stories
centuries of the peoples of the world. Kora, setâr, ngoni, kanun, oud, guitar, for centuries, have told our stories, carried our cultures and the voices of our ancestors. Around these noble instruments, wonderful musicians, bearers of memories, great voices.

Ablaye Cissoko is also honored by because he is a conveyor of emotions, a man who goes all over the world as living proof of Senegal open to the world.
