The Office National des Chemins de Fer (ONCF) has just placed a significant order with the Vossloh company, specializing in railway infrastructure. This collaboration, which amounts to 75 million euros, aims to equip the new high-speed line between Casablanca and Marrakech with switching equipment and other essential components.

Vossloh, a key player in the field of railway infrastructure, has just announced a major order from ONCF. Worth €75 million, this order includes the supply of switches, switching components and rail fixing systems. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2024 and will last until 2028. This order is part of ONCF’s ambitious project, which aims to establish a 245-kilometer high-speed link between Casablanca and Marrakech.

“Vossloh received a major order from the ONCF (Office National des Chemins de Fer). It includes the delivery of switches and switching components with a value equivalent to almost 50 million euros by 2027 and the delivery of rail fixing systems worth around 25 million euros by 2028 The components will be used to build the approximately 245 kilometer high-speed link between the cities of Casablanca and Marrakech. The line will allow speeds of up to 320 km/h and will significantly reduce the duration of regular journeys between the two major cities”announces the company in a press release published this Tuesday, October 29.

“The contract relating to the switching systems and components was signed on the evening of October 28, 2024, in Rabat, in the presence of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco and French President Emmanuel Macron”we add.

Vossloh is no stranger to large-scale rail projects, having previously secured major contracts, notably in China.
