Chari.ma and Orange Maroc join forces to transform local commerce
Chari.ma continues its actions to modernize local commerce. The Moroccan startup has just signed a partnership with Morocco to strengthen the digital transformation of grocers. Through this agreement, the two companies provide digital solutions adapted to retail businesses. The objective is to improve “the competitiveness of retailers, but also facilitate access to financial services for the entire commercial community,” indicates Chari.ma.

The partnership between Orange Maroc and Chari.ma is based, among other things, on the use of the distribution network of Dislog groupwhich will serve as a logistical lever to deploy these digital solutions. Thus, merchants will benefit from tools to simplify payments and help strengthen financial inclusion.

“The vast majority of Moroccan grocery stores already distribute the services of the telecom operator Orange. This partnership with Orange will allow Chari to digitalize the distribution process of these services by adding them to its application e-commerce. This will help to better train grocers in the use of digital technology and will contribute to the digital inclusion of this population,” explains Ismael Belkhayat, CEO and co-founder of Chari.ma.

This partnership is not only limited to the modernization of grocery stores, it also represents a further step towards the objectives of the Digital Morocco Strategy 2030. “This partnership with Chari.ma demonstrates our desire and commitment to supporting Morocco in its digital transformation. By equipping Moroccan local retailers with the most efficient digital tools, we are helping to strengthen the attractiveness of our digital ecosystem,” declared for the occasion Hendrik Kasteel, CEO Orange Maroc.

For Chari.ma, this partnership with Orange Maroc is a new example of actions that strengthen Morocco’s positioning as a reference digital hub in Africa.
