The death toll from the collapse of a restaurant on the Spanish island of Majorca has risen to four dead and around twenty injured, a spokeswoman for the emergency services of the Balearic tourist archipelago told AFP. Several people are seriously injured, said this spokesperson, without being able to specify their number.

The Balearic Islands, known for their crystal clear waters and beaches, are Spain’s second largest tourist destination after Catalonia. In 2023, they welcomed more than 14 million tourists, according to official figures.
