The city, nicknamed the Ocher City, is a melting pot of history, home to architectural gems from the Almoravid to Alawite periods, including gems from the 20th century. The event aims to rediscover these treasures through five guided tours under the theme of “ Marrakech, heritage in motion “. allowing participants to explore local history and culture in a new light.

A spectacular debut at the Bahia Palace

The protest will begin at the Bahia Palace on May 23, where notable figures such as the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication and other local dignitaries will speak. The evening promises to be rich with presentations on the city’s heritage, a projection on local artisans and a fun presentation of the culinary arts which will highlight regional gastronomy in a festive and inclusive atmosphere.

Activities for all

Heritage Days offer a varied program accessible free of charge, inviting everyone to participate without reservation. The guided tours will take place on May 24 and 25 and will cover iconic sites such as the Bahia and Badii palaces, as well as the Saadian Tombs. Routes dedicated to the new town of Guéliz and sensory activities in the old fondouks are also on the program. The weekend will be enhanced with cooking classes, exhibitions and enriching conference-debates, particularly on safeguarding the Guéliz district.

These Heritage Days are more than just a series of visits; they aim to offer a complete cultural experience which celebrates the vibrant history and heritage of Marrakech while educating and engaging the community in their preservation.
