Félix and Alexis Lebrun continue their doubles journey in Linz, where they qualified for the quarter-finals of the competition on Friday after a hard-fought match but won 3-1. Facing the Spaniard Alvaro Robles and the Romanian Ovidiu Ionescu, a pair logically within their reach (349th in the world) but vice-world champion in 2019, the two brothers aged 18 and 21 had to work hard.

“We were very happy to finish”

After dropping a set (they had won the first two), they fell behind 10-7 in the fourth set, which they finally won 14-12. (11-9, 11-6, 8-11, 14-12). “We were roughed up, from the 3rd set they increased their level of play so we were very happy to finish it,” declared Alexis at the end of the meeting where the two brothers did not hide their relief.

Among the favorites in both singles and doubles in Austria, they will quickly follow up on Friday by playing their second individual round at midday. Félix Lebrun will face the Swede Mattias Falck (54th) at 1:20 p.m. before Alexis challenges the Finnish Benedek Olah (95th) from 3:00 p.m.
