“Surrealism” at the Center Pompidou

On offer until January 13, 2025, “Surrealism” is one of the last major exhibitions at the Center Pompidou before its closure for renovations scheduled for the end of next year. The museum has opened its doors to more than 500 works which retrace 40 years of creative excitement in the artistic movement. From Salvador Dalí to René Magritte to Leonora Carrington, visitors travel through the history of surrealism and let themselves be carried away by its madness, its poetry and its incredible sense of the absurd. A must-see exhibition for art lovers visiting Paris.
Until January 13, 2025 at the Center Pompidou.

“Tina Barney, Family Ties” at the Jeu de Paume

This is the largest European retrospective to date for renowned photographer Tina Barney. “Family Ties” highlights the exceptional work of the artist, now 78 years old, who is one of the most precious and precise observers of the family unit. 55 color and black and white prints were selected for the exhibition, among which we find photos of loved ones as well as celebrities like Julianne Moore. The whole thing forms a scathing study of what the interior life of good American families, from which Tina Barney herself comes, looks like.
Until January 19 at the Jeu de Paume.

“Pop Forever, Tom Wesselmann &…” at the Louis Vuitton Foundation

Pop art, we think we have seen everything on the subject and exhibitions often contradict us on the subject. This is again the case with “Pop Forever, Tom Wesselmann &…” at the Louis Vuitton Foundation. On display are 150 paintings and works of various materials by Tom Wesselmann, a leading figure in the artistic movement that shone in the 1960s. 35 other artists, from different generations and backgrounds, such as Ai Weiwei, Jeff Koons or Roy Lichtenstein, are present in this beautiful exhibition which shows the exceptional legacy left by the movement made unforgettable thanks to the work of Andy Warhol.
Until February 24, 2025 at the Louis Vuitton Foundation.
