The Lat Diop camp remains mobilized behind its leader. This Sunday, his supporters organized a peaceful march to denounce what they consider to be two-tiered justice.

“Since his arrest, no evidence has been presented to justify his continued detention,” said one activist. Another pointed out that Lat Diop’s lawyers demonstrated that the case against him was empty.

“If Lat Diop is still in detention, it is only for political reasons, and not because he embezzled funds or committed the acts with which he is accused. We are proud of our leader and the work he has done, because so far there have been no reports incriminating him. »

They add that the accusations against him come from a single person and demand that this cabal stop. “Lat Diop is not and will never be forgotten, if that is their goal. » Lat Diop’s supporters and defenders continue to condemn this injustice with determination.

They also appeal to civil society, human rights defenders and the international community to denounce these archaic practices, contrary to the principles of the rule of law.

Lat Diop, Senegalese political figure and former mayor, faces several charges which led to his placement under arrest warrant. Embezzlement, Corruption, Abuse of power, among other accusations made against Minister of Sports and former CEO of Lonase.

These accusations, which also led to his placement under arrest warrant, are contested by his lawyers and his supporters, who denounce two-tiered justice and a political cabal against him.
