The Wait is Over ! The wait is over.

The Canadian will begin their 2024-25 season this evening with a home game against their Toronto sworn enemies, the Maple Leafs. With everything that happened in the last preparatory match between the two teams (Tavares, Laine, Reinbacher, Paré and Xhekaj), the fact that the Leafs won the two preparatory games between the two teams, the presence of a guy like Craig Berube behind the Toronto bench and the numerous dirty blows distributed to Lane Hutson the other night, we have to expect things to shake up, this evening.

I also expect the pre-match ceremonies to be much more successful than last year’s, but that’s another topic…

The CH had a very difficult preparatory camp, suffering four consecutive defeats to conclude this one and being unable to find the back of the net on the power play. All this while allowing a lot of goals both in numerical inferiority and in power play!

Will the Canadian be able to compete with the talent of the Maple Leafs this evening at the Bell Centre? Do we really have a team capable of being in the mix?

Even if the answers to these questions are difficult to give this morning and the buzz has come down a (big) notch after the injury to Patrik Laine, the enthusiasm for this first regular match is still very high. We see it at the ticket office…

I bought a pair of tickets for tonight’s game a few minutes ago. The results of my research?

Official Canadiens website: two tickets were available NOT FOR RESALE has 350 $ tx inc. (for the pair). But we are talking here about tickets in the last row with the wall in section 427…

The cheapest ticket in Redsit was at $399 around 10:00 this morning.

A bandside ticket was always available for the modest sum of $875.

Tickets were available starting at $153.51 via club-authorized certified resale. And it went up to $2,975 per ticket!

On Billets.ca, it ranged from $171.31 (all inclusive) for a ticket in the pit to $2,956 for two tickets in the Reds.

StubHubfor its part, offered individual tickets whose prices varied from $163 (all inclusive) to $10,106 (section 124 behind the Maple Leafs bench). I would like to believe that you have a magnificent view of the brand new giant screen at the Bell Centre…

How’s the world?

Note that I can find tickets at $135 Canadian for the match Canadiens vs Bruins tomorrow night in Boston… and that to be behind the Bruins bench, it wouldn’t cost me « that » 499 $. A match that Cayden Primeau risks playing, by the way…

There is something broken in the economic model of Canadians. Broken for the supporters, but interesting for the CH Group, it must be admitted…

Paying that much money for a team that just had seasons of 55, 68 and 76 points is beyond belief. Even if the club progresses, in my opinion it has a better chance of still being drafted among the top five in June than of making the playoffs…

Not, the HD TV hasn’t killed the need to attend events in person.

Will you watch the part of Habs This evening ? If yes, in what way? In person, on your TV (legally) or on a shady stream?
