Several towns in central Bosnia were severely flooded Friday morning after heavy rain, with houses, cars and gardens underwater in Kiseljak, according to an AFP journalist. Greater damage is also to be feared in the town of Jablanica, which is still inaccessible.

“We cannot enter or leave Jablanica at the moment,” said the emergency services of this town of 4,000 inhabitants, about seventy kilometers southwest of Sarajevo, and located near the artificial lake of the same name. .

In Kiseljak, about twenty kilometers west of Sarajevo, the cars were underwater, AFP noted. According to the Federal Civil Protection Administration, cited by the BHRT television channel, a large part of the population is in danger due to floods and landslides.

According to civil protection, there were victims, injured and missing people. Firefighters, police and public services are mobilized, but additional assistance is needed to control the situation and mitigate the consequences of storms and precipitation.
