Young defender Abdoul Aziz Ndiaye, playing for ASC Jaraaf de Dakar, was called up to the Senegal A national team to compensate for the loss of Ismail Jakobs, victim of an injury. This call-up marks an important turning point in the career of the 18-year-old Senegalese international, who joins the A selection for the first time under the direction of Pape Thiaw.

Former player of the U17 and U20 selections, Abdoul Aziz Ndiaye was initially preparing with the local Lions for the qualifiers for the next African Nations Championship (CHAN). However, his recent call-up now places him in the qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations (CAN 2025), which will take place in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.

Pape Thiaw, who is currently acting as head of the Lions, has decided to call on ASC left-back Jaraaf, emphasizing the confidence he places in young local talents. Ndiaye thus joins his teammate at Jaraaf, Cheikh Lô Ndoye, goalkeeper, also in the list of those selected for these meetings.

Senegal is preparing to face Malawi on October 11 in Dakar, before playing the return match in Lilongwe, scheduled for four days later. These two meetings will be crucial in the context of qualifying for CAN 2025.
