MONTREAL, May 6, 2024 /CNW/ – The Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility wishes to inform road users that the work to secure tunnel votes Ville-Marie and Viger will begin on Sunday May 12. The work aims to dismantle all of the suspended ceilings, including the tiles and the steel support structure in all of the tunnels Ville-Marie and Viger.
The work is scheduled to continue until May 2027.
Traffic obstructions are expected. As far as possible, they will be combined with those of other sites in the sector, in order to reduce frequencies. Partial or complete closures in the evening or at night will be required.
Obstacles and traffic management
- Partial or complete closures of tunnel segments at night or on weekends Ville-Marie and Viger, in one direction or the other.
- Default closures of tunnel entrance ramps Ville-Marie and Viger according to the obstructed segment.
In the event of unfavorable weather conditions or operational constraints, these closures could be postponed.
In order to properly plan your trips, find out about current obstacles by consulting the Quebec 511.
The Minister thanks road users for their collaboration. For the safety of road users and workers, compliance with the signage in place is essential.
