The Walloon Government presented this Thursday, October 3, 2024, the establishment of a pact to guarantee the simplification of administrative procedures for citizens. The pact will be a reality from the first quarter of 2025. It is a question of the digitalization of procedures relating to environmental permits and urban planning permits. The introduction of a right to make mistakes for farmers in administrative procedures is on the agenda as well as the creation of a Housing Agency and one-stop shops. The Government is recycling vocabulary that we generally hear in the business world, notably “user experience” or the principle of trust. All the ministers of the Walloon executive are concerned by the pact, the coordination of which will be ensured by the double-hatted Minister of Administrative Simplification, Jacqueline Galant (MR). The former Union of Companies (AKT) welcomes the initiative and notes measures that can be taken quickly to make life easier for Walloon entrepreneurs without waiting for a longer-term approach. She asks to participate in the task force.

After its weekly meeting, the Walloon Government was in full force to present this Thursday morning, October 3, 2024, the concretization of a commitment well identified in the new Regional Policy Declaration (DPR). This is administrative simplification and which was also the subject of a large-scale communication campaign. “The “Simplify.be” campaign, the first of its kind, was a success. We have collected more than 5,000 proposals from citizens and we continue to receive more. This is proof that simplification is a major issue for Walloons. Moreover, we will perpetuate the “simplifions.be” campaign to make it a real tool for measuring user satisfaction and continuous improvement,” rejoices Adrien Dolimont (MR), Minister-President of the Walloon Government.
