The draw for the qualifiers for the African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024) will take place on October 9, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced in a press release.

This event will kick off the journey of African national teams competing for a place in the final phase of the tournament, which will take place from February 1 to 28, 2025 in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

The qualifiers will take place in two rounds: the first from October 25 to 27 and from November 1 to 3, 2024 and the second round, from December 20 to 22 and from December 27 to 29, 2024. Morocco’s participation is still pending, in awaiting a decision from the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).

Furthermore, CAF reminded teams that have not yet registered to finalize their registration via the competition management system before September 29, 2024. This deadline is essential to ensure their participation in the qualifiers.

During the last edition of CHAN, organized in Algeria in 2023, Senegal emerged victorious by beating Algeria 0-0 (5-4 on penalties) in the final played on February 4 at the Nelson Mandela stadium in Baraki (Algiers).
