In the locker room “Gast,” the champagne remained in the coolers and the “Lausanne champion!” t-shirts. in the boxes. For a long time, the Lausanne HC players walled themselves behind the closed door, taking refuge in closed doors and silence. An island of despondency and desolation in the heart of the roars of the public, sometimes in German, “Schweizermeister”, sometimes in English, “We are the champions”. In the depths of privacy, some Lausanne residents cried. Very few still wore around their necks the silver medal that the leaders of the National League had just given them during a protocol ceremony which must have been an ordeal. On the ice, however, everyone took the time to warmly and sincerely congratulate their winners.

Fight valiantly, lose with dignity then leave sadly. This time, players and managers of the LHC did not play the comedy of those who are not affected by the defeat and who are looking forward to the next match. This is because there is no more possibility of a rebound. Or next season, but that’s far away and uncertain. Only Jason Fuchs, at the MySports microphone and between sobs, already promised that “Lausanne will be there in the coming seasons” and one day “will be champion”.
