A little over a week ago, when they were down by two goals, the Lyonnaises offered themselves a goal festival in a limited time to win the match (3-2) and, above all, give themselves a significant advantage before the return leg. Sunday April 28, in this second act, Sonia Bompastor’s Olympique Lyonnais validated their ticket for the Champions League final after their victory over Paris Saint-Germain (2-1).
OL struck hard from the start through Selma Bacha who, in the third minute, gave her team the advantage (1-0). Tabitha Chawinga helped maintain hope among the Parisiennes (41st, 1-1), before Melchie Dumornay achieved Lyon’s victory at the end of the match (81st, 2-1). Qualified for the final on May 25 in Bilbao, Lyon will face a well-known opponent: Barcelona, winner of Chelsea in the return match (2-0) on Saturday. The two teams met twice at the final stage of the competition, in 2019 and 2022. Each time, the Lyonnaises won.
