Since the start of the “Place Net” operation in Rennes, coordinated checks have been carried out by the National Police, the health and tax services, Urssaf as well as customs in businesses suspected of being rear bases for drug traffickers. Tuesday April 24, state services intervened in four stores in the Sarah Bernhardt district, in the south of the city.

Following on-site inspections, a restaurant was administratively closed for several breaches of hygiene rules. In a photo sent by the prefecture, we can see food placed on the floor in the cold room without any protection.

Three other businesses were checked, including a grocery store and a butcher’s shop. Formal notices were also ordered for some of them. “These regular but intensified controls are carried out in businesses whose official activity can help conceal other illegal activities such as trafficking in drugs, weapons, illegal products, contraband, money laundering, hidden work…”, specified the Prefecture.
