In the last kilometers of the road race, in road cycling (category C1-3), this Saturday, September 7 morning, there was a handkerchief. Inside, three men for a fine shot: the French Alexandre Léauté and Thomas Peyroton-Dartet and the world champion Finlay Graham.

If the French played as a team, Alexandre Léauté sacrificing himself on the Clichy-sous-Bois hill to take his teammate to the sprint, it was the Briton, double world champion, who won ahead of Thomas Peyroton-Dartet. Alexandre Léauté still finished third, the competition having been relegated far enough before the final explanation.

These silver and bronze medals add to the already impressive total of the French paracycling delegation, bringing the count to 27 medals since the start of the competition. Apart from today’s, Alexandre Léauté has already won no fewer than three medals, including two gold, in the pursuit on the track and in the time trial on the road. During a day that saw the French climb onto the podium eleven times, Thomas Peyroton-Dartet also won gold on Wednesday, in the solo exercise against the clock. But in a different category to his colleague Alexandre Léauté.
