Singer Kendji Girac is making his comeback, following the high-profile case involving him following a gunshot wound at the end of April.

Singer Kendji Girac is making headlines again for his music, several months after being at the heart of a case in which he was shot. He was shot on the night of Sunday 21 April to Monday 22 April, in a community area for travellers in Biscarrosse. The investigation was ultimately closed without further action.
He posted a video on Instagram on Thursday, announcing that he would be releasing a new single in September. He describes the song as a track dedicated to his audience who have been following him for ten years, with lyrics that he “searched deep within (his) soul.”
“I took the time to work on a beautiful song (…) to say what I really wanted to say deep in my soul, and I made this song just for you,” he explains in his video. “This is the first time I’ve addressed you informally in this song because you, my audience, have been there since the beginning. It’s been ten years, so I had to make a song just for you.”
