“That doesn’t mean I don’t love music anymore”: Soprano announces his “retirement” for 2030, simple break or new adventure?

While he has just unveiled “Émancipation”, the second part of his eighth solo album, Soprano evokes an intriguing horizon: 2030, the year of his possible “retirement”. But what does this term really mean for the artist, known for his unifying songs and his spectacular concerts? A look back at his projects, his thoughts and his dreams.

With “Emancipation”, the second part of its musical trilogy begun with “Freedom”, Soprano explores strong themes. “I wanted to talk about emancipation, about everything that imprisons us: toxic relationships, oppressive situations. The idea is to be reborn from all of this with the latest album, Renaissance, which will be released soon”he explains.

Through his lyrics, Soprano educates his audience about the dangers of toxic relationships, with songs like “Emprise”. “There are people who feel crushed, manipulated, forgotten. It’s important to talk about it, especially as a popular artist, to reach young people and encourage them to protect themselves”.

Currently on tour, Soprano is preparing to set Palais 12 in Brussels on fire on April 18 and 19, with perhaps a third date in preparation. “Brussels is special to me”he emphasizes. “The bond with the Belgian public is indestructible. I see Belgian fans everywhere, even in , who follow me to every concert”.

For Soprano, the scene is essential: “It’s where I can express my emotions, my ideas and my madness. Each concert is a party, but also a story”. With his new tour, he transports us to 2054, in a world dominated by artificial intelligence, where he struggles to bring humans together around a concert.

2030: retirement or a new start?

The announcement caused a stir on social networks: Soprano could retire in 2030. But he qualifies: “When I say retirement, it doesn't mean I don't love anymore. I'm not going to stop making music, I want to continue making songs, but maybe slow down on albums and tours “I would like to explore other projects, such as cinema or artist production.”.

However, Soprano does not intend to slow down just yet. “In the next four years, I plan to release ten albums! My dream? Organize a concert on the Champ de Mars with all the generations who have listened to my music, to be able to have a great party”.
