If I had been told that I would have this place, I would not have signed and that would have been a shame

1:10 p.m. A difficult race. From start to finish, Thomas Ruyant had to face unforeseen events. Between storms, electrical blackout and technical damage, the skipper had to push his limits.

Violent squalls in the rise of the South Atlantic notably deprived him of his J2, an essential sail.

13h06 The skipper says he is satisfied with his first place. “I feel like a job well done,” he said.

1:05 p.m. A successful first! Nicolas Lunven did not go unnoticed for his first Vendée Globe. He notably distinguished himself by setting the record for distance traveled in a monohull and single-handed over 24 hours, with 546.6 miles.

He was quickly surpassed by Yoann Richomme then Sébastien Simon, but it remained a notable moment in his race.

Super happy to arrive. There are great moments, but also more difficult moments, but that's part of the adventure.

12:45 p.m. A grueling race. Nicolas Lunven's Vendée Globe was not easy. Especially at the moment of the rise of the Atlantic: the loss of its head mast in a stormy area had taken with it its wind sensors, essential to optimize navigation.

Despite this incident, the skipper managed to collect miles until the last few days.

12h37. The skipper is joined by his three children and his wife aboard his Imoca. A moment he waited for several hours.
