In 2025, Motörhead will mark half a century of rock history with a series of events, releases and tributes, while confirming that “Motörhead is for life and Lemmy forever”.

50 years of noise and power

Motörhead, one of rock and metal's most iconic bands, will celebrate their 50th anniversary in 2025 with milestone events and special releases throughout the year. Founded in 1975, the band remains a true legend, having sold over 25 million albums and played to millions of fans around the world.

The group also had great success in 2024 with an unreleased single, Lawmanwhich reached the top 10 in the UK. At the same time, Motörhead has accumulated over 320 million streams globally, 20 million listeners on Spotify and over 112 million views on YouTube.

Phil Campbell, guitarist of the band, said: “It’s amazing to know that our music continues to resonate so much with people. This music remains as vital and important as ever, thanks to the unique energy it exudes.”

Drummer Mikkey Dee adds: “The connection we have with our fans is like a family, and it’s great to see that family continue to grow. Motörhead has always stood for the idea of ​​following your own path, and this philosophy continues to inspire.”

Special vinyl editions and a statue in tribute to Lemmy

Celebrations kick off on February 28 with limited vinyl editions of legendary albums Overkill, Bomber et Ace Of Spades. These vinyls, engraved at half speed and offered in special colors, will also include an exclusive poster.

On May 8, International Motörhead Day, a special moment will be dedicated to Lemmy Kilmister, with the inauguration of a statue in his honor in his hometown of Stoke-On-Trent. The work, created by British sculptor Andy Edwards, will be a lasting tribute to Lemmy's memory. Lemmy's ashes will be placed in the monument by Phil Campbell, who will lead the celebrations.

Andy Edwards said: “Lemmy represents the original spirit and power of rock'n'roll. I hope this statue becomes a place of pilgrimage for fans around the world.”

Motörhead manager Todd Singerman added: “Lemmy remains with us, even ten years after his disappearance. It symbolizes honesty, integrity and rock'n'roll in its purest form. There is only one Lemmy, and the world continues to celebrate him loudly and proudly.”

To give a taste of the celebrations to come, an HD remastered version of the band's first televised performance in Top Of The Pops in 1978, with Louie, Louieis now available.
