It has now been more than a week since fires broke out in the Los Angeles area and the flames are still not under control. Worse, deaths continue to be counted every day and according to the latest counts, a 25th person has lost their life in California where the fires are still raging. In one of the richest and most glamorous places on the planet, a favorite place for stars like Tom Hanks, Reese Witherspoon and Jamie Lee Curtis, many celebrities have lost their homes.

French celebrities have also seen their homes go up in smoke, like Laeticia Hallyday, who revealed impressive images after the fire in her villa. This is also the case for Patrick Bruel, who acquired a beautiful property near Pacific Palisades 8 years ago, at the time when his two sons, Léon (21 years old) and Oscar (19 years) settled there with their mother, Amanda Sthers. Neighbor of Johnny Hallyday, who encouraged him to settle in California, the latter has just announced to the American magazine Variety that his home was the victim of the flames. “It’s a beautiful little village, a place in which we felt extremely good. It’s even difficult for me to talk about it in the past tense. I was there five days ago. It’s really overwhelming”explains the one who said what he thinks of his son Léon’s musical career recently.

Patrick Bruel forced to advise his son against returning to their house

Speaking of his children, in this same interview, Patrick Bruel explains that one of them, Léon, considered for a moment returning home despite the threat of flames. “I had left the day before and my son was there. He was going to the airport. He said to me: ‘Should I go home? Should I try to save things, maybe there’s still time?’”says the singer who keeps smiling despite his house going up in smoke, before revealing his reaction: I said, ‘No way, don’t even think about it.’ The young man had recently spoken out about the fires, putting their situation into perspective, comparing it to those of other people who “have lost everything“.

Obviously in shock after the destruction of his house, the 65-year-old singer left Los Angeles a few days before the fire. “It looks apocalyptic. It feels like a bomb has devastated everything”he always tells the American magazine, affirming in passing that the devastation caused could have been much greater in other circumstances. “If it had happened in the middle of the night, it wouldn’t have been the same story at all.”believes Patrick Bruel.
