Arriving in Figeac on Christmas Eve, Eve Hermann discovered, with curiosity and enthusiasm, at the start of 2025, the district of which she is the new sub-prefect. A completely new mission for this 49-year-old volunteer, originally from Angers, who already has a long career in the public service. “I have a real appetite for state functions,” explains Eve Hermann. “I started my career at the Council of State where I was responsible for management of budgetary issues for eight years. This new professional stage allowed her to go to India where she held the position of general secretary of the French Institute of Pondicherry for four years. A fascinating experience that Eve Hermann repeats in another country, becoming in 2015 secretary general of the French Institute of Cambodia in Phnom-Penh.

Three weeks ago, Eve Hermann began touring the municipalities in her district. “As I meet, I see the strengths of this territory with great solidarity, people very invested in serving their fellow citizens, a rich and dense activity. The district has multiple faces: industrial, rural, tourist This is the winning combo!” There is no shortage of files on the sub-prefect’s desk. “There are only priorities,” smiles Eve Hermann, who wants to travel throughout the territory to meet elected officials and residents. She has already identified several major challenges on which she wishes to work without delay: housing, drinking water, adaptation to climate change, economic development and employment and even schools.
