“It’s not a criticism, it’s a compromise”: one of the members of ‘Delta’ explains the separation of the group

After the end of the group Delta, Benoit Leclercq goes solo with a new musical project. The artist, who celebrated the release of his first single “Basique”, decided to take a new path to explore more personal and intimate themes. He tells us about his journey and the reasons for this important change.

Benoit Leclercq, known under the pseudonym Léon, explains that his solo project allows him to explore more personal subjects. “In a group, we must always take others into account. This is not a criticism, but it is a compromise”he says. For him, this solo stint is an opportunity to concentrate on his story, his emotions, and to express himself without constraint.

An introspective first single

With “Basique”, Léon addresses themes of self-acceptance and simplicity. “We are not Superman”he confides. He admits that this title has been a form of personal therapy, a way of accepting himself as he is and no longer beating himself up for natural emotional reactions. “It’s completely natural to be able to express everything you have deep within yourself.”

Even though he chose to go solo, Léon remains on good terms with his former Delta partner, Julien. “We still work together on several projects”he explains. Léon also continues to invest in musical production, a facet of his job that he particularly appreciates.
