French basketball had a dream night at the 78th annual NBA draft, with four French players selected, and even better, three in the Top 6 including No. 1 Zaccharie Risacher and No. 2 Alexandre Sarr. The latter, originally from Toulouse, met the two rappers Bigflo and Oli who have just revealed this incredible anecdote.

After their call to vote against the National Rally with a long message explaining the reason for this choice and having supported Squeezie in his fight against the extreme right, Bigflo and Oli have just reacted to the announcement of the last NBA draft. During this 2024 edition, an exceptional event occurred: four Frenchmen named in the first round, an absolute record for a nation outside the United States and Canada. Zaccharie Risacher (1st), Alexandre Sarr (2nd), Tidjane Salaün (6th) and Pacôme Dadiet (25th) were all drafted by NBA franchises. It was the second named who called out the two rappers from Toulouse.
Indeed, Alexandre Sarr grew up in the city of Toulouse and initially played in different clubs in the city where Bigflo and Oli came from. According to the tweet of the two rappers, they knew the young basketball player when they were in primary school, “Incredible journey. He was in our primary school, it’s crazy!“, they revealed on Twitter with the video of the announcement of the draft of the French player by Adam Silver: « From Toulouse, France ».
Thanks to this historic feat, France is now positioned as one of the most promising nations outside of North America, with a talented next generation and a bright future ahead. Last year, the Frenchman, Victor Wembanyama, was already chosen as No. 1 in the NBA draft by the San Antonio Spurs.
