He wants to turn the page. Two months after the shooting that could have cost him his life, Kendji Girac speaks for the first time in front of a camera, in a video posted Wednesday June 26 on his Instagram account. “I had to take care of myself and think about what happened to understand how I got there and, above all, make the right decisions for the future.“, explains the 27-year-old singer after a first message written at the beginning of May. “I also wanted to let justice do its job“, he adds.
On April 22, the former winner of “The Voice” was hospitalized near Bordeaux, victim of a gunshot wound to the chest. After having suggested that he had wanted “fake a suicide“, during an argument with his partner Soraya, he reconsidered his version.
On Monday, the public prosecutor of Mont-de-Marsan announced the dismissal of the legal proceedings involving the singer, specifying that according to the investigation, “it is established that the shooting was deliberately provoked by Mr. Girac himself.”
