There are artists to discover.
This is not a guarantee of future success but clearly it is a guarantee of quality. It’s as if artists received a “To Watch Closely” stamp. XXL has just revealed the 2024 class of its Freshman and there are already rappers that we know in France and others that we really want to discover.

XXL writes how the editorial team made its choice:
“Every year, rappers from all over hip-hop compete for a place in the game while only a select few get the glory. This year’s meetings included 53 rap hopefuls and we had discussions about their music , we listened to their unreleased songs, we looked at touring plans and learning about their goals. Keeping all of this in mind, and many other factors that come into play, we had to make some tough decisions while. the editorial team was deliberating on the artists who would join the 171 other former freshmen who have been inducted since 2007.
Obviously, this is a list that can give rise to debate, and there will be some, but it is rare that the artists who appear on it do not have a career. For the record, J. Cole appeared there in 2010, Plie and Bossie Badazz in 2007 but it also hosted Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller, Lil Uzi Vert, Chance The Rapper, Schoolboy Q, XXXTentacion, 21 Savage, Ab-Soul, Action Bronson , Dababy and so many others!
