On the occasion of the release of his new album ImpostorJulien Doré spoke about his personal life and in particular about his role as a father in 50′ Inside on TF1 this Saturday, November 16. Since March 2021, the singer has been a father, an experience which fills him with happiness but also with worry.
In his new album entitled Impostoravailable since November 8, 2024, Julien Doré revisits iconic pieces while infusing them with his personal touch and his grain of voice. Among the songs on this album, its cover Mama's Eyes by Kendji Girac is particularly striking. And for good reason, the singer integrated his grandmother's voice through a voice message that he had kept. “I absolutely wanted to capture my mother's voice in a song because I don't have any images or videos of her“, he confided to Télé-Loisirs. This new opus, where we find covers of Mylène Farmer, Dalida and Frank Sinatra, is also a tribute to his own journey. But behind his career, a new priority emerged for the singer: his role as a father.
Julien Doré confides in his fears of not being present enough for his son
Julien Doré does not hide his concerns as a father. This Saturday, November 16 on the show 50′ Inside on TF1, he confides that he fears a possible emotional distance with his son because of his absences linked to his career. “I'm too afraid of that (…) I wouldn't want there to be a distance“, he admits. This fear of not being present enough pushes him to cultivate moments of complicity with his son: “As long as he bursts out laughing at something I do, I tell myself it's okay. I am not yet that father observed from one corner of his eye and judged by his son from afar“The artist recognizes that absence, even occasional absence, can lead to shortages.”I would be terribly sorry if, by my absences to come and speak to you or by a failure to look or listen, I created a break“, he explains. Contrary to the modesty he may have felt in the relationship with his own father, he is delighted to have a completely open bond with his son: “There is no shame with him.”
Julien Doré talks about the birth of his son
Julien Doré's love for Music was reflected in a key moment in his life: the birth of his son. The singer had requested that How Do You Feel the Morning After by Millie Jackson is played in the delivery room. “[Les docteurs] asked us to choose, and there was this album“, he says, visibly moved when thinking about this moment. However, the singer of the title Coco Cuddle do not project your passions onto your child. When asked if his son will follow in his footsteps in music, he immediately responds: “Oh no! He wants to go to the moon and that would be great.”
