Michel Sardou explodes with anger over political news in a cinema. As usual, the singer was very blunt in his remarks.

Since the results of European elections, nothing is going well in France. Protests continue in the capital as well as other cities. As for French celebrities, a certain number of artists also spoke about the rise of the far right. Michel Sardouknown for his songs and his emblematic career, was in Paris, more particularly at Pathé Wepler, on Monday June 10, 2024. He was present for the preview of his concert at the cinema. During the evening, the singer of the title Love sickness wanted to say what he thought about political news. What did he tell the public? We tell you more in this article.

Michel Sardou: a man who says what he thinks

Michel Sardou began his career in the 1960s. While the beginnings were difficult, it was only later that he took off in the world of singing. In 2018, the artist decided to take a break to dedicate himself to theater. On Monday June 10, 2024, the 77-year-old man was at the cinema Pathé Wepler. During his appearance on stage, Michel Sardou once again showed that he does not have his tongue in his pocket, especially when it comes to policy. Indeed, since he began singing, he has expressed without detours his opinions on various subjects.

Michel Sardou: “This one isn’t very clear, it scares me a little all the same…”

Last October, the composer was interviewed by the magazine Paris Match. He had confided in complete transparency that he was not “very Macronist”. In addition, he explained that he found Emmanuel Macron “bizarre” and “elusive”. But that’s not all. During an interview on BFMTV, Michel Sardou was also very blunt about the environmentalist Greta Thunberg. “This one isn’t very clear, it scares me a little all the same… She’s as excited as a clock, he declared. Then he continued: “I think everyone is green. We don’t want to ruin the world. But on the other hand, I’m not attacking it. I like ecology, I don’t like political ecology […] because they talk about everything except ecology.”

“Stop pissing off the French, that would be good”

After Emmanuel Macron and Greta Thunberg, it’s Anne Hidalgo’s turn to take the blame. The day after the European elections, Anne-Marie Périer’s husband spoke out. “We hate all presidents”, he said, responding to a member of the public. Michel Sardou added that for him, prime ministers are “funny”. And to close it all, he made his audience laugh by saying: “Stop pissing off the French, that would be good.” With these words, the artist left the cinema as he was unable to attend the film. I’ve never seen a single one of the little films I made, I don’t listen to my records once they go to the press, and I never listen to anything I’ve done again. So tonight I’ll be with you in spirit, but I won’t be there because I’m not a Sardou fan.”, he concluded.
