Coal Chamber bassist Nadja Peulen reflects on her experience in the world of Metal and explains how she dealt with being considered one of the most attractive women in the genre, especially at the time of her entry in the group in 1999.

Media attention that never bothered her

During an interview on the show She’s With The Band from Knotfest, hosted by Tori Kravitz, Nadja Peulen shared her feelings about the label “sexiest woman in metal” that was attributed to her in the 1990s and 2000s. “I had no problem with it. [Rires] Yes, that’s a compliment. As a woman, you often attract a lot of attention, and when you’re on stage, whether it’s in , film or modeling, it amps things up. Sometimes it can be a little annoying,” she confided.

She also recalled a particularly embarrassing moment during the Kerrang! Awards in 2002 where she had to announce Slipknot. “When they introduced me on stage with the label ‘hot woman,’ I was like, ‘Is that all I’m known for?’” Despite this, Peulen considers this attention a compliment.
