Nicole Scherzinger has apologized for any “pain” caused by a controversial comment she made on Instagram.

The singer, who has since deleted the comment made on a Russell Brand post, admitted that her words could have been “easily interpreted as being about politics”, when in fact she claims it was about of an expression of his faith.

On November 5, Russell Brand, who went from being a comedian to one of the most followed paths of conspiracy theorists, shared a photo appearing to celebrate Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 US presidential election, by holding a red cap on which was written “Make Jesus First Again”.

This cap was a nod to the one worn by some supporters of Donald Trump and on which one could read “Make America Great Again”. Nicole Scherzinger responded to the photo, writing, “Where can I find this hat?”

A few days later, the “X Factor” judge said she regretted her comment.

“I deeply apologize for the pain caused by my recent engagement with certain posts on social media,” the singer wrote on Instagram Stories. “When I commented on these posts, I made the mistake of not understanding that they could easily be interpreted as being related to politics and I apologize to everyone who understandably came across to this conclusion.”

“Many marginalized communities who feel hurt and concerned by the results of the presidential election are people I care about most,” the Pussycat Dolls alum added. “I support them, as I always have, throughout my life and career.”
