Beyoncé leads the nominations thanks to her album “Cowboy Carter”

Competing in 11 categories, she is well ahead of Charli XCX, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, and even Taylor Swift.

“Queen B” will be the big favorite of the ceremony. At the next Grammy Awards, which reward the American industry in February 2025, Beyoncé's name will appear in eleven categories for her album Cowboy Cartera tribute to the African-American roots of country music, the Recording Academy announced on Friday, November 8.

She is ahead of Charli XCX, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar and Post Malone (seven nominations each), then Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan and Taylor Swift (six nominations each). Beyoncé competes in the best album category, a prize which has always eluded her.

Beyoncé also received a nomination for best country album. His opus, which draws heavily on this genre, was recently excluded from nominations for the Country Music Awards. With the single Texas Hold ‘Empunctuated by the sound of the banjo, and Cowboy Carterthe Houston native nevertheless became the first black artist to top the Billboard reference charts for country.

On the French side, the metal group Gojira, whose very notable interpretation of My fault (Ah! Ça ira!) at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games with opera singer Marina Viotti is one of the contenders for metal performance of the year. The 67th Grammy Awards ceremony will take place on February 2, 2025 in Los Angeles (United States), two weeks after Donald Trump's inauguration at the White House.
