Massachusetts Metalcore pioneers Killswitch Engage have just revealed the upcoming release of their single The Consequenceexpected for November 20. This track will mark the highly anticipated return of the group since their last album Atonementreleased in 2019, and paves the way for a ninth studio album, scheduled for early 2025.
An explosive return for Killswitch Engage
Killswitch Engage recently revealed the artwork for this new single, along with a message to fans: “11/20/24. New Music is coming. Mark your calendars.” This single is an integral part of their new album, which, according to guitarist Joel Stroetzel, will reconnect with the raw energy and intensity characteristic of the group. “There's a lot of melody and intensity in the new songs, with sections that are faster and more aggressive,” explained Stroetzel, promising a sound that was both powerful and recognizable.

A demanding creative process
Vocalist Jesse Leach described this album as one of the most demanding of his career. He spoke of both vocal and emotional challenges, making the creative experience particularly intense. “I never do things by halves in my creative life,” he confided, emphasizing the personal and artistic involvement he invested in this recording. Supported by guitarist and producer Adam Dutkiewicz, as well as vocal coach Melissa Cross, Leach explored new techniques, blending power, melody and depth to bring these new compositions to life.
A headlining tour for 2025
In support of this new release, Killswitch Engage have also announced a North American headlining tour, scheduled for March 2025. They will be joined by Kublai Khan TX, Fit For A King, and Frozen Soul, who will enrich the live experience. The tour kicks off March 5 in Nashville and wraps up April 12 in Portland.
