Now aged 80, Sylvie Vartan is preparing to say goodbye to the stage during a final concert. The singer will perform her biggest hits on November 8, 9 and 10 at the Dôme de . For the occasion, she spoke to Le Point magazine on Thursday October 31, 2024. She notably returned to one of the biggest disappointments of her career. A career during which she shared duets and great moments on stage with many artists, such as her ex-husband Johnny Hallyday, or even Etienne Daho, with whom she will share one last moment on stage. Unfortunately, she will not be able to count on the presence of one of her other singer friends, Michel Sardou. In 1983, they shared a magnificent duet on the song Les Balkans et la Provence, but the singer refused to go back on stage with her. “I wanted him to come and sing with me, but he refused. He’s exaggerating, especially since our song is very pretty. But I wasn’t going to harass him,” she confided to Le Point, visibly disappointed.

Sylvie Vartan's career was also marked by her romance with Johnny Hallyday, a love story which fascinated the French at the time. “We can thus retrace our history by listening to us sing! It was an extension of our intimacy. We formed a ménage à trois: him, me and the public,” the singer recalled, nostalgically. “I am not eternal, my life is behind me,” she confided regarding the end of her career. (…)
