The British singer revealed this week that she sells photos of her feet on the website OnlyFans, a photo and video sharing platform that directly pays content creators. Unlike Instagram, for example, you have to pay to access the accounts of the users you want to subscribe to. In this case, you have to pay a little less than 10 euros per month to benefit from Lily Allen's.

However, on this particular account, we only find photos of her feet. This affair began during a trip by Lily Allen to Italy, where the singer went to her chiropodist. She told him that she had very beautiful feet and that she could earn money by showing them on the Internet. No sooner said than done. Lily Allen posts a photo captioned “la dolce feeta”, a play on words between the Italian expression “la dolce vita” (“the sweet life”) and the English word foot, “feet”. This is how her feet became the new star of OnlyFans and above all a new source of income for the singer.

Lily Allen even declares on her X account that this activity now brings her more money than her songs. However, her OnlyFans subscribers number 1,000, while Lily Allen has 8 million monthly listens on Spotify. According to an estimate from the American magazine Variety, she could earn around $10,000 per month, just from these famous feet photos.

For Lily Allen, her statement is a way of denouncing music streaming platforms that do not pay artists enough but also, according to her, a way of regaining control – with something as stupid as feet – over the sexualization of her body, from which she has suffered since her youth.

A real paradox, since platforms like OnlyFans are today very contested by certain associations, according to which this image trade is similar to prostitution which does not say its name, or at least to commodification and sexualization of bodies. The vast majority of these bodies are in fact those of often precarious women, who monetize their image to make ends meet.
