His rehearsal scheduled for yesterday shortly before 5 p.m. was postponed, so all the rumors ran about Slimane’s presence this evening at the NRJ Music Awards. Finally, the artist indicated to our colleagues from Le Parisien that he was there and will finally perform on stage. According to one of his relatives, the question of his presence arose but:
“There have been discussions but we think that the presumption of innocence is very important and we are not investigating judges. So for us, nothing has changed.”
Until the last moment, doubt reigned. One of his relatives did not himself know what would happen: “The idea is not to touch anything,” confided Wednesday evening a person close to the negotiations. He remains presumed innocent, so we don’t have to judge him. Now, if he decides not to come for one reason or another, that’s his choice and we will respect it. We know how to adapt, we have seen others…”
Singer Slimane is accused of sexual harassment and a complaint has been filed against the singer, said the Saint-Étienne prosecutor’s office. The complainant is a former technician working on Slimane’s tour. The facts allegedly took place last December on the sidelines of a concert by the singer at the Zénith in Saint-Étienne.
The technician declares “to have been the victim of sexual harassment on the part of the singer Slimane, in December 2023, during a concert at the Zénith in Saint-Étienne”, explained the Saint-Étienne prosecutor David Charmatz to our colleagues from Figaro.
The attacks allegedly occurred after the concert around 1 a.m., under the gaze of several witnesses.
According to the complaint, Slimane allegedly encouraged the technician to follow him into his dressing room before asking him to have sex. A few hours later, despite the technician’s refusal, the artist allegedly sent several photos of a sexual nature – even pornographic – to the artist.
According to Le Parisien, rumors about this affair have been circulating since last January. The technician would have in fact informed the “concerts” subsidiary of TF1, called “Play Two Live”. Slimane, for his part, had just been chosen to represent France at the Grand Eurovision Song Contest 2024, and was also continuing collaborations with the first channel, by recording, among other things, the annual Enfoirés gala.
On the side of France Télévisions, according to Le Parisien, we then sought to protect the singer. He would have been excluded from the French media during his preparation for the competition and would have granted only rare interviews: one for Têtu last March and another for 20 Minutes.
