Madonna invites Salma Hayek dressed as Frida Kahlo on stage for her “Celebration Tour” in Mexico

MUSIC – A distinguished guest, disguised as an iconic artist. THE Celebration Tour by singer Madonna offers thrills to fans of the “Queen of Pop”, and the artist’s latest concert once again proved it this Saturday, April 27 in the Mexican capital.

Used to bringing renowned artists on stage with her, Madonna therefore called on a star of Mexican origin, actress Salma Hayek. The two women then found themselves on stage alongside Madonna’s worldwide hit Vogue.

Except that this prestigious guest had herself planned a surprise for Madonna and the Mexican public by coming on stage in an outfit reminiscent of the appearance and style of the Mexican painter Frida Kahlo, as you can see in the video at the top of the article.

On Instagram, Salma Hayek revealed behind the scenes of her outfit and her hairstyle inspired by the talented painter. Flowered headdress, braided hair, corset and skirt modernized but inspired by the traditional outfits often worn by Frida Kahlo… Salma Hayek did not forget the slightest detail to pay homage to the painter.

Salma Hayek clearly did not choose at random to pay homage to her compatriot, author of the painting Self-portrait with necklace of thorns and hummingbird. In 2002, the Mexican actress herself played Frida Kahlo in the film Frida, American director Julie Taymor. But above all, she is one of Madonna’s favorite artists.
